The Sun newspaper in the UK accidentally reported that the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, had died after Buckingham Palace’s meeting overnight.
The paper posted an online story with the headline “Prince Philip dead at 95, how did the Duke of Edinbugh die, etc etc .”
The story read: "Prince Philip, otherwise known as the Duke of Edinburgh, was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.
"He was married to Queen Elizabeth II. The pair had four children together - Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward."
The article was deleted quickly, but had already been screenshotted all over the internet.
The Palace released a statement later in the morning UK time saying that Prince Philip will halt his public engagements in the northern autumn.
