Security will be a strong focus at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
In the wake of the Manchester Arena attack, Commonwealth Games organisers are assuring the public that strong security measures will be in place.
Chairman Peter Beattie said at a press conference today that the safest place to be during the Gold Coast event will be at the Games.
While he couldn't rule out a Manchester-style attack, he confirmed that organisers are taking safety concerns seriously.
Airport style security will be in place at Games venues, depending on the measurements of your bag. Those with small bags will be able to get in an express queue while larger bags will mean a slower queue and venue entry.
