This is your chance to rub shoulders with some amazing award-winning authors when they set foot in Townsville for the CityLibraries Townsville biennial literary festival.

‘Savannah: Townsville’s Festival of Stories’, will include appearances from ‘Possum Magic’ author Mem Fox, ‘Diary of a Wombat’ author Jackie French, ‘The Sex Lives of Australians’ author Professor Frank Bongiorno, ‘Over the Back Fence’ author Fay Gee-Hoy and one of Australia's most beloved performers and author of ‘Reckoning: A Memoir’ Magda Szubanski.

"I said books, i said good times, i said fun"

The event is designed to get everyone reading, writing, telling stories and connecting with each other at their local library.

But it’s not just story writing, the packed four day program will have something for everyone including a bush tucker tasting, an 80s roller skate disco and of course the opportunity to ask those burning questions you’ve always wanted to ask the authors – like ‘will you let me hug you Magda?’.

It’ll happen from May 25th to May 28th at the Mercure Townsville.
