The Northern Fury is keen to build momentum in the NPL hosting Moreton Bay Jets this Saturday.
Fury Coach Paul Roncato looking to get the boys back on the field, with Captain, Corey Waples, to make his injury return.
The recent disruptions unwelcome, causing a loss in momentum and match fitness. But, Roncato says if there’s a silver lining from the two missed games, it is that it gives players with niggling injuries a chance to recover.
The Fury missed a Round 11 game scheduled against Western Pride last week because of the rain.
While their Round 9 game against the Brisbane Roar Youth side was scrapped. They didn’t come north because the claimed they couldn’t field a team.
Roncato claims Football Queensland is playing favourites.
“If that was the Northern Fury, if we said to them ‘look we’re under strength at the moment because we’ve got players absent’, I can tell you now they would have told us we either forfeit or turn to the 20s to get extra players to play the game.”
It still hasn’t been rescheduled, with the sides unable to agree on a new date.
