Mount Louisa Chemist Investigation

Chemist was hit earlier this week

Mount Louisa Chemist Investigation

Police are investigating an armed robbery on a chemist in Mount Louisa.

Officers say at around 1pm yesterday, a man armed with a firearm allegedly went into the chemist on Bayswater Road and threatened staff..

The man then allegedly threw an ‘army green’ duffle bag on the ground and demanded pharmaceutical drugs from the staff.

He grabbed the bag of medication and allegedly took off in a silver Holden Commodore sedan.

Police found the vehicle burnt out, on a track at the end of Bayswater Road.

Investigators also believe the car, with false rego plates – 665 WCR, was involved in two petrol drive offs earlier yesterday, at Bohle and Yabulu.

Police had been speaking to three men picked up a nearby pub, but they have been released without charge.

The man (pictured) is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 182cm tall with a slim build and was wearing maroon or purple rugby jersey with long sleeves and white collar, black tracksuit pants and white shoes with a black Nike logo.

Anyone who may have seen the man or know of the car is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
