An authentic steam train departed the Townsville Train Station on Monday, June 12 heading to north-west Queensland as part of Cloncurry’s 150 year celebrations.
Passengers were in good spirits as the steam started to puff in the heart of the city.
It's completely legit too! The beautifully preserved train features historic wooden carriages hauled by historic steam locomotives.
Guests will travel along the once known Great Northern Railway Line, with stops in Charters Towers, Hughenden, Richmond and Cloncurry.
The train will then travel back through Townsville on June 23 on its way to Brisbane, stopping at many regional towns along the way.
